Yesterday I saw an interesting article about being a kadazan or dusun? Firstly I would like to say that I am proud to be a Dusun. A Dusun Tindal actually.
When I was in school some of my dusun classmate would not admit that they are dusun. They said dusun is a “sogumau” or yokels or unsophisticated people. So, they called themselves Kadazan. Me, being a "sogumau", doesnt' make any different at all. But, why the word "sogumau" lemongrass? I wonder. Can anyone explain?
